You’re not alone
Hospice can be emotionally heavy, and the day-to-day care can be exhausting. We support families by covering the practical needs: comfort, hygiene, safety supervision, and respite, so you can focus on being with your loved one.
What is hospice support home care?
Hospice support home care is non-medical assistance that works alongside your hospice team. We help with comfort, routine care, mobility safety, and family relief. Your hospice nurse manages medical needs and clinical care; our caregivers help with the hands-on daily support.
What kind of Hospice Care support do you need?
Daytime Comfort + Routine Support
Help with hygiene, light meals, safety supervision, and comfort-focused routines while family rests or handles responsibilities.
Hands-On Personal Care Support
Support with bathing, dressing, toileting routines, mobility assistance, and transfers guided by your hospice care plan and comfort level.
Overnight Hospice Support
Overnight supervision and assistance so family caregivers can sleep, especially when restlessness, fall risk, or frequent needs disrupt the night.
What our caregivers can help with
Every hospice plan is different. We tailor care around comfort, dignity, and safety, while following the hospice care plan and family preferences.
Daily care + comfort support:
• Bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and hygiene routines (as tolerated)
• Repositioning support and comfort assistance (non-medical)
• Mobility support and safe transfers (stand-by to hands-on as appropriate)
Meals + hydration:
• Simple meal prep, feeding support if needed, and hydration reminders
• Light kitchen clean-up after meals
Home support:
• Laundry, linens, tidying, and keeping walkways clear to reduce fall risk
• Basic errands related to the home (as arranged)
Safety + supervision:
• Calm presence and supervision during higher-risk times
• Overnight support when family needs rest (availability based on scheduling)
Family relief:
• Respite coverage so family caregivers can sleep, work, or take breaks
• Communication about how the shift went and any changes observed
Note: We provide non-medical home care and do not perform nursing tasks or administer medications. We can provide medication reminders per the hospice plan.
How we start hospice support services
We start by listening, then align support with your hospice plan and your family’s routines
1) Complimentary care consultation (needs, schedule, preferences)
2) Care plan alignment (comfort priorities, routines, safety)
3) Caregiver match (skills + temperament)
4) Smooth start (clear expectations and first-week check-ins)
5) Ongoing oversight (adjustments as needs change)
Many families start with 20+ hours/week to build consistency, but we can often help under 20 hours/week when the schedule is consistent each week.
