AffordCare Home Care is amazing and has greatly improved my mother's stay at her assisted living residence. As family, it was frustrating not being able identify and provide the support my mother needed.  The staff at AffordCare through skill,  care, and compassion were able to identify additional supports my mother needed and worked with her to have a better quality of life. I can't even begin to truly explain how incredibly relieved and happy I have been with our experience with AffordCare after only a short time. We were at a crisis point with my mom's husband after my mom became ill and was hospitalized last month. We did not realized how much her husband, who has dementia, relied on her for everything, and how she has been reluctant to ask for help. After she was later discharged and unable to do the things she usually does for him due to her difficult recovery, I was left trying to juggle everything. Dealing with both of them as well as the household tasks, my husband and I realized that I couldn't keep up and for everyone's sake, we had to do something quickly. Thank goodness a friend recommended AffordCare. I reached out online, and from the moment Jackie contacted me, we've experienced nothing but professionalism, compassion and understanding every step of the way. Jackie really listened to our needs and created a thoughtful and comprehensive care plan that would work for everyone involved. We were apprehensive at first about how this new situation was going to be received by my step-dad. The caregivers Jackie matched him with have been fantastic. They not only have the skills and patience to work with him, they have sweet and kind personalities. As a former first grade teacher, I understand very well the importance of connections. We are thrilled. As I mentioned, my mom's recovery has been a slow process. Due to some upcoming travel we've had planned since the beginning of the year, I was extremely concerned about leaving my mom and not having the extra help that I have been providing for her. I came close to canceling the trip altogether. Jackie mentioned that they could offer some extra help to her while I am away and during the recovery process until my mom is back to independence. We met in the morning and Jackie had a proposed care plan ready the same evening to start the next day. This is a such a HUGE relief and weight off my shoulders. I feel like I can breathe again. I’m the person in charge of my sisters care.  My sister has advanced Alzheimer’s. AffordCare is really head and shoulders above other orgs I’ve worked with which provide caregivers for my sister.  The owner of AffordCare, Jackie, has an expertise and even more importantly, a personal and ongoing  investment in providing individualized, caring support for my sister.
